Most Baltimore County week two football games were played last Thursday, but by the time the week finished Friday evening, just four teams remain undefeated on the season. Ten BCPS teams claimed week two wins, including Eastern Tech who earned had the best offensive performance, beating Pikesville 49-20, and Towson who had the highest win margin, beating Lansdowne 44-0.

Thursday’s game between Milford Mill and the Broadneck Bruins (Anne Arundel Co.) caught statewide attention as one of the biggest games of week two. The Millers represented the county well in their home opener, taking down the Bruins 48-25. Click this link or scroll down to read more about how the game played out!

After a tough week one loss, the Milford Mill Millers bounced back in the home opener, beating the Broadneck Bruins 48-25.

Head coach Reggie White and company fell 42-7 against the Dunbar Poets in a neutral site game at Under Armour Stadium last week. Meanwhile the Bruins, led by head coach Rob Harris, defeated the St. Mary’s Saints 29-27 at home, winning the game on a blocked field goal. The two teams both entered this season looking to reach the state title game after being eliminated in the state semifinals in 2025. 

Milford Mill, after scoring seven points in week one, got on the board early against the Bruins. Quarterback Kameren Faulcon kept it on the ground himself, running it 73 yards for the game’s first touchdown. 

In their next drive, the Millers had the ball at the Broadneck one-yard line, but a goalline fumble gave the ball back to the Bruins. Despite this, the Bruins would not score, and Milford’s Dejuan Nelson scored their second touchdown on a 60-yard run.

A few minutes into the second, the Bruins put their first points on the scoreboard. Senior quarterback Nate Kropkowski connected with senior Aidan Tupper for a 20-yard receiving touchdown. The Millers quickly responded with a 25-yard passing touchdown from Faulcon to senior receiver Terrell Tyner. 

Before the end of the half, Kropkowski and Tupper synced up again for each of their second touchdowns, making the score 21-13 at the break.

Milford Mill continued to pour it on throughout the third, extending their lead with a pair of rushing touchdowns. Faulchon scored his second of the game from 15 yards out, and that was closely followed by a 10-yard touchdown from De’Onte Ross.

Down 41-13, the Bruins’ offense tried to close the gap with a short rushing touchdown from Kropkowski, but on the ensuing kickoff, sophomore Zyon Stanley returned a short kick 45 yards for Milford Mill’s seventh and final touchdown of the game. Before the clock hit zero, the Broadneck quarterback scored another on the ground, but it was too little, too late, as the Millers completed the rout, winning 48-25.

Broadneck, now 1-1, will hope to bounce back in their week three road game against the Arundel Wildcats, also 1-1. The Millers will look to get above .500 for the first time in their home game next week against Perry Hall. In 2025, Milford Mill took care of business in that match, defeating the Gators 59-0 on the road. The Gators enter week three 0-2, having been outscored 103-34 against Glen Burnie and Oakland Mills.

After the first full slate of Baltimore County flag football games, Pikesville and Eastern Tech are emerging as the top talent in the county.

The Panthers, led by head coach Wayne Epps, are so far the only team to surpass 100 points, scoring 52 in the season opener against Carver and 48 on the road against Franklin. Those stats rank Pikesville as the third best flag football team in the state!

The Mavericks are coached by Keith Wilson and have a +24 win margin average after two weeks, beating Overlea 42-2 in week one and rival Perry Hall 20-12 in their second game.

Eight of 24 Baltimore County schools remain undefeated this far into the season, including Dundalk who also has two wins. Twelve games are scheduled for week three, including six on Monday and three on both Wednesday and Friday!

Catonsville has emerged as the top Baltimore County girls’ soccer team two weeks into the fall season.

The Comets have dominated their out-of-county schedule, opening with a home win against Marriotts Ridge before earning road wins at Crofton and Middletown. Jon Salvino’s team outscored the Mustangs, Cardinals, and Knights 8-2, and will play Century on Tuesday before starting their BCPS schedule Thursday against Sparrows Point.

In addition to Catonsville, six other BCPS teams are undefeated after two weeks, with five of them having played just one game. Sparrows Point is the only other undefeated squad with two games under their belt, earning a 3-1 win against Severn Run while typing 0-0 against St. Mary’s.

Tuesday, September 15, is set to be FULL of action across the county with 11 total games set to be played. Those 11 include EIGHT between two Baltimore County teams. Keep up to date with all the action on County Sports Zone!

Eight BCPS boys’ soccer teams are undefeated after the first full week of the regular season, led by Catonsville and Dulaney with three wins each.

The Comets dominated in their early season out-of-county games, beating Marriotts Ridge, Crofton, and Century by a combined 5-1, ranking them 13th in the state! The team will look to stay hot despite having just one game this week, they county opener on the road against Dulaney on Thursday.

Speaking of Dulaney, the Lions are one of five teams sitting at 2-0 along with Franklin, Lansdowne, Woodlawn, and Sparrows Point. They earned a pair of wins over private school teams, beating both the Park Bruins and Boys Latin Lakers 2-1 last week.

Tuesday will also be a big day for boys soccer with 11 total games scheduled including nine between a pair of Baltimore County schools.

Yet again, the Catonsville Comets have the best record in the county in the volleyball rankings

The Comets earned clean sheet wins over Winters Mill and Mount de Sales, but in their game against Hereford last Wednesday, they needed five sets to take down the Bulls. Thursday looks to be the best game in BCPS this week as Catonsville will hit the road to face Dulaney, a team who’s finished at or near the top of the county for years.

Eastern Tech and Lansdowne are chasing the Comets’ tail, each having two wins early in the season. In addition to Thursday’s game between Catonsville and Dulaney, look for tons of action on Wednesday, September 16, with a whopping 13 games being played across the county!!

Sparrows Point, Eastern Tech, and Pikesville are all undefeated after the first full week of field hockey action. The Pointers started their season with a 9-0 win over Carver, the Mavericks defeated Patapsco 7-0 in their first game, and the Panthers earned a narrow 2-1 win over the Carver Wildcats. The three will look to defend their undefeated record this upcoming week.

Two cross country meets are scheduled for this Wednesday! Here’s the breakdown of where BCPS teams are set to compete:

Randallstown High: Catonsville, Chesapeake, Franklin, Hereford, Lansdowne, Milford Mill, New Town, Owings Mills, Pikesville, Randallstown, Western Tech, Woodlawn

Parkville High: Carver A&T, Dulaney, Dundalk, Eastern Tech, Kenwood, Loch Raven, Overlea, Parkville, Patapsco, Perry Hall, Sparrows Point, Towson
