SOFTBALL 🥎

This week, Baltimore County has no shortage of high-stakes and competitive games on the schedule. Click this link or scroll down for a breakdown of what could be some of the best regular season games the spring season has to offer!

Towson @ McDonogh

While the Generals were on spring break last week, the Eagles, who compete in the MIAA, lost a game last week on the road against Notre Dame Prep 13-11 but won on Friday 17-2 against Roland Park. Towson’s team will enter the game with the most wins in Baltimore County, holding a 7-1 record. They’ll be led by four captains including Shawna Dyer and Molly Mohr who host batting averages above .500. McDonogh junior outfielder Claudia Colton will look to continue her hot streak at the plate, as she went 2/4 with a pair of singles and two RBI in the win over RPCS.

Dulaney @ Manchester Valley

Following a Monday game on the road against undefeated Glenelg, the Lions will travel to Carroll County to take on the ManVal Mavericks. Dulaney was one of few BCPS teams to have games over spring break, as they split a double header on April 4 against the Chesapeake Cougars and Severna Park Falcons. Last week, the Mavericks had four consecutive days of games, facing Westminster, Winters Mill, Oakdale, and Century, going 2-2. Catcher Erin Kleiner will hope to continue her hot hitting after going 2/3 with a homerun in Manchester Valley’s game on Friday. Dulaney’s Avery Remeto will enter the week following a 3/3 performance against Severna Park that also included a long ball.

Dulaney @ Towson

Wednesday’s contest between the Lions and the Generals has clear potential to turn into the game of the year. The longstanding rivalry goes back decades, last spring, Dulaney swept the season series, winning 11-0 on April 1 and 4-2 on the road a month later. Last season’s sweep came after Towson had one of their own in 2024, as the Generals won 6-5 and 9-6 just two weeks apart. Stay tuned to CSZ this week for a recap on Wednesday’s high-stakes contest.

Parkville @ Pikesville

Both the Knights and the Panthers surprised many this season, with both teams currently in the top five of the county overall standings. Parkville will enter the week with a 3-1 record, having scored double-digit runs in each of their four games this season, including 20-run performances against Overlea and Owings Mills. Their lone loss was on the road against Patapsco with a 22-12 final. Meanwhile, Pikesville currently sits at 5-0 including four 20-run outings and a 33 against Loch Raven, the most the team has scored since their 35-run game against Lewis in the 2016 state semifinals.

Carver @ Catonsville

The Wildcats’ most recent game resulted in a strong 12-10 win on the road against the Eastern Tech Mavericks. On the other side of the diamond, the Comets faced the Western Tech Wolverines on March 30, where they fell 4-3. Despite the loss, Comet catcher Emily Meiller will enter the week coming off a 3/4 performance that included a triple. Carver’s Kornegay went 3/4 with a homer and two runs scored against Eastern Tech, while Jocelyn Barker went 2/2 with a pair of singles. Both teams come in with the potential to make this a high-scoring showdown to wrap up the week.

GIRLS LACROSSE🥍

The most recent time a BCPS team played a girls’ lacrosse game was on April 2, when Dulaney took down Urbana 8-6 in Howard County. This week, even as early as today, Baltimore County teams will have several tough opponents.

Throughout this week, Dulaney will face an undefeated Maryvale squad on the road, and on Thursday, Eastern Tech, who currently holds a 3-1 record, will host 2-1 Carver. Scroll down to see Monday’s slate of games!

Catonsville and Towson were the lone teams to play over spring break. Last Saturday, April 4, the Comets fell to Mount Saint Joseph 17-2, and on Tuesday, April 7, the Generals overcame powerhouse C. Milton Wright from Harford County 7-6 on the road!

Both Catonsville and Towson, now 3-2 and 4-0 respectively, are scheduled to face off in what could turn into an incredible game on Tuesday. 12 total games are scheduled for BCPS teams on Tuesday, scroll down to see the full schedule! BASEBALL

Baseball was the lone BCPS sport to have significant action over the full spring break week. Tuesday kicked off with a dominant Perry Hall victory over Woodlawn, followed by Hereford taking down rival Eastern Tech on Wednesday. Thursday saw Kenwood win 18-5 on the road against Loch Raven while Friday saw Dulaney take down the Gators 4-3 and the Bulls take down Poly 10-2. On Saturday, Towson got back to even for their spring break schedule as they beat St. Paul’s and Dulaney won their second game 15-12 at Westminster.

This first week back is full of games with plenty of potential for incredible games! Starting on Monday, Towson will travel to face Catonsville, followed by a battle between undefeated Franklin and undefeated Parkville on Tuesday, and more great games on Wednesday and Friday!
