SOFTBALL 🥎

High school sports throughout the state are entering the final full week of the regular season, but that certainly doesn’t mean that there aren’t important games still to be played. Between teams having similar records, county championship implications, and a quest to finish perfect, click this link or scroll down to learn about the five BCPS softball games to watch for the final week of April, and the final week of the regular season:

Monday: Perry Hall @ Towson

The Generals will enter Monday’s match having played the most total games out of any BCPS team at 13, having won 11. After starting just 1-2, the Gators have bounced back as they find themselves on a 6-2 stretch, most recently winning a nailbiter against rival Eastern Tech 10-9 on Friday. Earlier this season, when Towson traveled to the east side of the county, Perry Hall fell 12-2 to Coach Collins’ team. Randolph Macon commit Maddie Carl will enter the game having led the Gators in the tight win over the Mavericks. In Friday’s contest, the senior went 2/5 with a longball and another base hit. Junior Savannah Carl also went 2/5 tallying a triple and a double last Friday.

Monday: Sparrows Point @ Carver

The Pointers will travel to the central part of Baltimore County to face the GW Carver Wildcats on Monday. Sparrows has had a season with no shortage of ups and downs. George Bishoff’s team opened the season on a three game win streak, the third game of which was a 19-9 win over Carver, but that was followed by a four-game skid that dropped them below .500. Now at 5-4 following wins over Perry Hall and Dundalk, they’ll look to take down a 5-5 Carver team after their 10-0 road loss against Towson last Friday. Alana Meurer led Sparrows in their win over Dundalk last week going 3/5 with a double while Kaylie Schleig went 2/3 with a pair of singles and three RBI. In Carver’s 18-13 win over Dundalk last week, junior Maya Einolf with a double and three RBI. Each of those three athletes could have an impact in how this game ends up.

Wednesday: Kenwood @ Patapsco

The Bluebirds enter the week in the BCPS top three, holding an 8-2 record, and they’ll travel to Patapsco to face the 7-3 Patriots in the midweek. The two teams faced off on April Fools Day before spring break, and that game saw a 13-3 Kenwood victory, but Patapsco will have home field advantage in this week’s rematch. In their last five games, Kenwood has scored at least 15 runs in each, including 30-run performances on the road against Parkville and on the road against Pikesville. Patapsco is on a three game win streak of their own, highlighted by a 21-run performance against New Town and 27 against Pikesville. Both teams have high-level offenses, but only time will tell which pulls through this week.

Wednesday: Milford Mill @ Pikesville

The Millers and Panthers faced off at MMA on Thursday, and that game saw both teams cross the 15-run threshold with Milford getting the victory. Entering with a 6-0 record, this will be the Millers’ toughest test remaining before the regular season ends. They are also scheduled to host Randallstown on Monday, a team they won a forfeit against in the first game of the season, and a home game against Owings Mills on Friday. Their first game of the season resulted in a 28-11 Milford Mill win. The Panthers enter the week on a five-game skid in which they’ve been outscored by over 70 runs.

Friday: Dulaney @ Hereford

The battle between the Lions and the Bulls, regardless of what sport, tends to be one of the most entertaining games the county has to offer. Dulaney enters the week at a perfect 11-0, outsourcing their opponents 101-13 throughout the season. After a 13-2 regular season in 2025, Hereford finds themselves at just 5-4, but they will enter on a two-game win streak, having taken down Sparrows Point 12-10 and Lansdowne 18-1. The Lions took the first match of the season series at home 6-1, their smallest home loss against a county opponents this year. Amherst College commit Brynn Townsend and Franklin and Marshall commit Maddy Hahn will likely have pivotal roles as Dulaney looks to secure the season sweep and stay undefeated going into their final game of the season on May 4 against Carver

GIRLS LACROSSE🥍

Dulaney remains atop the county standings, but Eastern Tech is running away with the regular season wins title, currently ahead of the Lions by eight. Pikesville, also with five county wins, is the only one that could catch the Mavericks. Eastern Tech just needs to beat one of Overlea, Parkville, or Perry Hall to clinch the crown.

Tuesday looks to be the day of the week for BCPS girls lacrosse. The top games will include 6-3 Sparrows Point traveling to 5-3 Carver, 5-4 Hereford hosting 5-3 Perry Hall, while 4-2 Loch Raven will play on the road against the 4-3 Kenwood Bluebirds. Without any unforeseen delays, the regular season will be finished on May 1. Stay tuned for the final regular season standings update next week!

BOYS LACROSSE🥍

The P-ville’s remain atop the Boys Lacrosse standings, with Parkville and Pikesville holding perfect 8-0 and 7-0 records going into this last week of the regular season. The Knights also sit atop the overall county standings, also at 8-0, but Towson takes the #2 spot having won all four of their out-of-county games, putting them at 8-1.

Monday looks to be an interesting out-of-county schedule for three BCPS teams! The 7-2 Mavericks will travel to North Harford High to face the 8-2 Hawks, the 6-3 Hereford Bulls will also travel to Harford County to match up against the 6-4 Bel Air Bobcats, while the Generals are set to face the 11-1 Fallston Cougars, also on the road.

BASEBALL

The Knights also sit atop the county baseball standings at an undefeated 10-0, but Hereford’s four out-of-county wins give them a 15-1 overall record and the top spot in the overall standings. They are just one win away from securing the county’s win title, something they’ll look to do on the road against Western Tech on Monday. The Bulls have also earned the top spot in the 2A XPosure Sports baseball rankings, and the 23rd overall spot in the state, including both public and private schools! Congratulations to Hereford!
