Last week, six BCPS teams faced off in three games for regional flag football championships. Pikesville faced the Randallstown Rams, claiming victory 38-0. Milford Mill hosted Towson with the Millers earning a narrow 6-0 home win. Lastly, in the 4A/3A North I bracket, Perry Hall hosted Kenwood and advanced with a 14-0 win.

Entering the state quarterfinals, the Panthers are the top seed of each of the three Baltimore County teams still alive. The undefeated Panthers will start their 2A/1A state bracket journey with a home game against the eighth-seeded Middletown Knights (6-6, Frederick Co.). Middletown advanced to the state bracket with wins over Catoctin and Walkersville.

Milford Mill head to the 3A/2A state bracket ranked fifth, and they’ll hit the road in round one to face the Northern Patriots (13-1, Calvert Co.). The Patriots claimed a 41-12 win over Great Mills in the regional semifinals before a 7-0 home win over Huntingtown in the regional championship.

Perry Hall has an uphill climb in their first state bracket game, as the seven seed will face the second ranked North Point Eagles (14-1, Charles Co.) in the quarterfinals. BOYS SOCCER ⚽

BCPS still has double-digit teams left in the regional brackets heading into championship week! Starting with class 1A, Pikesville will host sixth-ranked Chesapeake Science Point (3-13, Anne Arundel Co.) who pulled off upset wins over the Carver Wildcats and Western Tech to advance to the championship game.

Moving to the 2A class, Hereford is the three-seed in the North I bracket and they’ll hit the road to face top ranked Winters Mill (11-1, Carroll Co.). The Falcons earned a 3-1 home win over Manchester Valley on Halloween to advance to host the Bulls. In the North II bracket, three-seeded Sparrows Point will host fourth ranked Eastern Tech for the regional title. Both teams pulled off semifinals upsets as the Mavericks blanked top-seeded Forest Park 6-0 while the Sparrows routed the second-ranked Chesapeake Bayhawks 7-0.

The 3A classification has a pair of regional championships between two Baltimore County programs. First, third-ranked Milford Mill is set to host fifth-seeded Towson in the North I bracket title game. The Generals are the lowest Baltimore County seeded school still alive, upsetting Overlea 8-0 and top-seeded Aberdeen 3-1 on the road to advance. Milford Mill also pulled off an upset, beating Edgewood 2-1 to move on. In one of the most contentious matches in the state, the Franklin Indians will rematch the Catonsville Comets in the North II championship. The two teams faced off at the end of the regular season, and the Comets put an end to Franklin’s undefeated bid, beating the Indians 4-1.

BCPS has just two teams alive in any 4A bracket, and they’ll go head to head for the North I title. The third ranked Dulaney Lions will host the five seed, the Dundalk Owls. GIRLS SOCCER ⚽

Also entering regional championship week, six BCPS teams are alive as they look to hoist a region title. Out of five games in which Baltimore County teams will play, just one will be a head to head between a pair of them.

That head to head will be for the 4A North I regional title, a showdown between top ranked Kenwood and two-seeded Dulaney. The Bluebirds earned a first round bye before a dominant 8-1 win over fourth-seeded Dundalk. The Lions were also on bye in round one and went on to beat the defending state champion Perry Hall Gators 1-0.

Two-seeded Towson will host fourth-ranked Aberdeen (4-10, Harford Co.) in the 3A North I title game. The Eagles got out of the regular season with just a 2-10 record but pulled off a 9-1 quarterfinals win over Milford Mill before upsetting top-ranked Patapsco 3-1 in the quarterfinals. The Generals played just one regional bracket game, shutting out Edgewood 8-0 in the semifinals.

The Catonsville Comets, ranked fourth in the 3A North II bracket, also advanced to their regional championship. Catonsville comes in after a pair of regional games, beating fifth-seeded Marriotts Ridge 3-2 at home before upsetting top ranked Franklin 6-0 on the road. They’ll face the second ranked Howard Lions (9-2-2, Howard Co.) who won a high-scoring game over Centennial in the semifinals.

Seven BCPS field hockey teams are fighting to advance in their regional championships, including three games between two Baltimore County teams.

With field hockey regional brackets consisting of just four available seeds, each advancing team has played no more than one game. The 1A North I bracket is an example of this as Sparrows Point earned a first round bye, advancing as the top seed to the title game. They’ll face second-ranked Pikesville who won 7-5 over Carver at home in the first round.

Similarly in the 2A North I bracket, the Eastern Tech Mavericks earned a bye, and they’ll face Hereford, coming off an upset 3-1 win over the Northeast Eagles (Anne Arundel Co.). Towson and Catonsville both had semifinals games in the 3A North I bracket, each advancing to the title game. The Generals dominated Franklin, beating the Indians 11-2, while the Comets upset the top ranked City College Knights 3-0 to advance.

Lastly, in the 4A North I bracket, the Dulaney Lions earned a bye as the top seed. They are set to face the Glen Burnie Gophers (8-3, Anne Arundel Co.), after their 1-0 win over North County in round one.
